Dvore, Sandy

SANDY DVORE attended the American Academy of Art from 1953-1954 and is
best known for his visual images for print, television and film. Dvore
created famous main titles for television shows such as The Partridge
Family, Knots Landing, The Young and the Restless, and the movies The
Great Escape, Lawrence of Arabia, Sea of Love, Lean on Me, and Drugstore
Cowboy. Dvore won the 1986-87 Emmy for the titles he created for the Carol
Burnett special, “Carol, Carl, Whoopie and Robin”. Sandy once remarked
that having his own display case at the Academy made him prouder than
winning an Emmy Award. To see Sandy Dvore’s work, visit his website at
www.electronicgallery.com. Sandy Dvore, on the American Academy of Art:
“That was a great time at the Academy, turned my life around at 19 years
old.”
