ALEX ROSS received his degree in 1989 and is best known for his comic
book paintings and is said to be the most prominent comic book painter
in
the industry. Alex was a student of current instructors Rich Kryczka and
Lou Ann Burkhardt. His mother, Lynette Ross, also attended the Academy.
A
joint show with Alex and Lynette exhibited at the Academy in
January-February of 2004. Alex continues to keep close ties to the Academy
by participating in several Visiting Artist Lectures, and donating $500
annually to be awarded at the Annual Student Show (Alex & Lynette
Ross
Award). He has worked for such comic giants as Now Comics, Marvel Comics
and DC Comics. Some of his better-known projects include Marvels, released
in 1994, and Kingdom Come, the limited series for DC Comics, released
in
1996. Ross has received many awards for his work including the 1997 Will
Eisner Award for a limited series Kingdom Come, a (with Mark Waid), a
