O'conner, JamieHumanities and SciencesJaime O’Connor joined the American Academy of Art faculty in 2005. She teaches Speech and Special Topics in Communication: Criticism. She has previously taught college grammar and composition, public speaking and critical reading skills. Her career in academia began in academic advising at North Park University where she developed a series of student success workshops and provided oversight for the peer-tutoring program. She also gained experience in career counseling in the Career Services department at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois and as Staffing Manager at a Chicago staffing firm. She also works with small businesses and consulting firms conducting market research and reporting, copywriting and editing, and operations audits. Ms. O’Connor is a member of the Women’s Business Development Center of Chicago and serves as a volunteer business consultant with the Arts and Business Council of Chicago. She earned her B.A. in Secondary Education English and Speech and her M.A. in Interpretive Speech from Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida. |
