Goro, MichaelVisual Communications, GraduateDesigner Michael Goro has been a faculty member at the American Academy of Art since 2002. He currently teaches Digital Pre-press and Production and Visual Communication. Originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, Mr. Goro has worked as a book illustrator in Jerusalem, an illustrator and graphic designer for Babcock Theater in Salt Lake City, and a teacher of drawing, painting and printmaking. He has worked with many corporate and non-profit clients, and taught at the University of Utah and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In 1998, he competed in the International Print Triennial in Kanagowa, Japan and was ranked the third best printmaker in the world. Other awards include three lead artist teaching grants from Gallery 37 in Chicago, a teaching excellence award from the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and first prize in Notes from Underground International Art Exhibition in London. He earned a B.A. from Mukhina College of Art and Design in Leningrad, Russia and an M.F.A. in Printmaking from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. His work has been exhibited in more than forty national and international exhibitions. Recent Exhibitions:
