Sobel, Ellen

Humanities and Sciences

Ellen Sobel currently teaches Art History Survey I and II and Art and Technology at the American Academy of Art. She has experience in teaching a variety of art classes from elementary through college level.

She has designed and produced handmade jewelry since 1999. After working as a jewelry designer’s apprentice for two years, she was able to launch her own jewelry design company.

She holds a B.F.A. in Art History with a minor in Metals from the University of Illinois and a Masters in Education with an emphasis in art from DePaul University.

She has exhibited metals, drawing, design, glass and photography at the University of Illinois.
