Thomas, AnthonyHumanities and SciencesTeacher, director, and writer Tony Thomas has been on the faculty at the American Academy of Art since 1993 and currently serves as the Chair of the Humanities and Sciences Department. He teaches Communications, Film and Society, Advanced Film and Society and Creative Thinking. He has directed over 50 professional productions and authored several plays which have been produced throughout the United States. He was one of the founders of Live Theatre in Evanston, Illinois where he served as Artistic Director. He has previously taught at the Goodman School of Drama at DePaul University in Chicago; Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois; California State College, Stanislaus in Turlock, California; and Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Mr. Thomas is listed in 2004 and 2005 editions of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. He is also on the Education Staff at Brookfield Zoo, where he teaches and prepares curriculum for all ages – from pre-schoolers to college professors. Mr. Thomas holds a B.F.A. in Drama from New Mexico State University and an M.F.A. in Directing from Ohio University School of Theatre. |
