Susan Walter joined the faculty at the American Academy of Art in 1998. She currently teaches Marketing/Self Promotion and Business Writing.

Ms. Walter has worked in the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. She began her career as Manager of Sales and Customer Service Training for R.R. Donnelly and Sons Company, and is currently an independent consultant in the areas of recruiting, people and program development and benchmark analysis. Her clients include companies such as Metrorail Experian, PeopleSoft, and the Brookfield Zoo.

She has also worked as a docent with the Brookfield Zoo for ten years, where her responsibilities include teaching classes and interpreting exhibits.

Ms. Walter holds an M.B.A. from the University of Iowa.
